Zimmer Biomet robot clinches medtech award: 4 notes

Rosa Knee has won Orthopedic Product Innovation of the Year at the 2021 Healthcare Asia Medtech Awards.

Four notes:

1. The award recognizes the most innovative organizations and products transforming the medical device industry in the Asia Pacific region.

2. Designed by Zimmer Biomet, Rosa Knee is a surgical robot assistant intended to provide greater precision in total knee replacements.

3. The robot features 3D preoperative planning tools and intraoperative data on soft tissue and bone anatomy to improve bone cut accuracy and range of motion gap analysis. It also collects data to help surgeons make more informed decisions on patient care.

4. Sang Yi, group president of Zimmer Biomet Asia Pacific, said in a May 27 news release that the award validates the technology, which is designed to “help surgeons personalize surgical procedures for their patients.”
