Tennessee hospital launches da Vinci Xi surgical system

Kingsport, Tenn.-based Holston Valley Medical Center has expanded its robotic surgery offerings with the addition of the da Vinci Xi surgical system, according to a May 4 LinkedIn post.

General surgeon Andrew Kramer, DO, from Surgical Associates of Kingsport, performed the first procedure using the robotic technology. 

The da Vinci Xi robot helps surgeons make smaller incisions in minimally invasive surgery, which allows patients to recover faster with less scarring.
