Riverview Health to launch orthopedic robotics program with new surgeon

Brennen Smith, DO, joined Noblesville, Ind.-based RiverView Health and will launch a robotic joint replacement program with the Mako system, according to an announcement in KROX.

Dr. Smith covers a variety of services including general orthopedics, trauma care and total joint replacement. The Mako robot can help reduce blood loss, minimize incisions and quicken recovery.

“We are excited to bring these tools to our already strong joint program to improve outcomes and consistency of results for RiverView patients and the region,” Carrie Michalski, RiverView Health’s president and CEO, said in the press release.
