Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center hits 500 Mako surgeries

Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Medical Center reached a milestone of 500 procedures with the Mako SmartRobotics system, the hospital said April 25.

Robert Avino, MD, performed the milestone procedure, according to a news release. Dr. Avino also performed the hospital’s first Mako procedure in September 2022.

The Mako robot is used for partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, and total hip replacements. Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is the only hospital in the region to have two Mako systems.
