Warwick-based Ortho Rhode Island is the first facility in the state to add Stryker’s Mako robot for reverse shoulder replacements, according to a Feb. 2 news release shared with Becker’s.
Nathan Howlett, DO, is trained to use the robot. The practice’s Ortho RI Surgery Center is now one of 20 sites nationwide to use the technology.
It’s also the first ASC in the state to use Mako 4, the newest advancement in Mako SmartRobotics for total hip, total knee, and partial knee replacement.
