Orthopedic surgeons at the hospital can now use the robot for total knee, partial knee and total hip replacements.
Allina is the first hospital in the region to receive a surgical robot of this kind. They have already performed 19 procedures with the robotic arm, according to the report.
“The data shows how much this can benefit patients, we see it in the larger hospitals who have had this technology for years,” Rick Miller, director of operations at the hospital, told Owatonna.com. “It’s great we are now able to expand our orthopedic care and continue to provide world class service right here in Owatonna.”
