Carly Behm -

Alan Daniels, MD, and Bryce Basques, MD, who both practice out of University Orthopedics in Providence, R.I., performed the state's first spine surgery with the Mazor X Stealth edition platform.

The case was completed June 24 at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, according to a June 30 news release shared with Becker's. The Mazor X Stealth platform lets surgeons create and execute a personalized 3D plan for each patient. During surgery, the system holds instrumentation and provides guidance, the release said.

Dr. Daniels is chief of spine surgery and Dr. Basques is director of minimally invasive spine surgery at The Miriam Hospital.
