Jacksonville, N.C.-based Onslow Memorial Hospital is now offering spinal surgery with the Mazor X Stealth Edition robotic guidance system, according to WCTI NewsChannel 12.

Three takeaways:

1. In January, Auralia Green became the hospital's first patient to have spinal surgery with the robotic system. She has had several back surgeries since being injured in 1986 while serving in the Marine Corps.

2. The patient's robotic procedure at Onslow Memorial Hospital took four hours, whereas previous surgeries that used conventional methods took eight hours. She is now doing physical therapy twice a week for seven weeks.

3. Onslow Memorial Hospital is one of four hospitals in North Carolina to acquire the Mazor X Stealth Edition.
