The Royal London Hospital in England performed the first robotic-assisted procedure in the U.K. with Silony Medical's Verticale MIS Posterior Spinal Fixation System, Markets Business Insider reported Nov. 25.
Three things to know:
1. Verticale is a posterior double rod fixation system for stabilizing the thoracic and lumbar spine.
2. The system aims to stabilize degenerative spinal diseases and correct spinal deformities.
3. Drs. Syed Aftab and Alexander Montgomery performed the surgery at Royal London Hospital in July.
