Surgical Review Corp. named Portsmouth (N.H.) Regional Hospital a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery, fosters.com reports.

What you should know:

1. The hospital believes it is the only hospital in New Hampshire with the designation.

2. To earn the designation, Portsmouth Regional had to undergo a self-assessment and an on-site inspection.

3. Surgical Review created an accreditation process that is consultative and educational. The process analyzes an organization's current strengths and presents best practices to improve upon its weaknesses.
