Indiana hospital adds 2 surgical robots

Columbus (Ind.) Regional Health has added two surgical robots to its orthopedic surgery department.

Zimmer Biomet’s Rosa Knee System and Stryker’s Mako SmartRobotics system were developed to enhance partial and total joint replacements.The addition makes the health system the only in its region to use the robots, the hospital system said in a Feb. 15 press release.

Several physicians have already begun using the robots during procedures, the health system said.
