Hoag Hospital’s 8-specialty robotics program hits milestone, gains designation

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian hit a milestone number of robotic surgery procedures and was recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corp.

Three highlights:

1. With five da Vinci Xi robots at its Newport Beach, Calif., campus and one at its Irvine, Calif., campus, Hoag recently recorded 15,000 robotic surgeries.

2. Hoag’s robotics program involves eight specialties and more than 42 physician leaders.

3. Surgical Review Corp., a patient safety organization, recognizes hospitals and surgeons that consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care.
