He reached 100 robotic spine surgeries in April 2022 and 200 robotic cases in April 2023, according to an April 11 news release.

“The biggest difference from the first 200 to the next 100 is that we started expanding the application of the robot beyond just placing pedicle screws for the low back or lumbar spine,” Dr. Gallizzi said in the release. “We expanded its use to safely perform even more complex surgeries, decompressions, and cervical spine surgeries.”

Dr. Gallizzi joined The Steadman Clinic in 2022 and uses the ExcelsiusGPS robot.
