HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital added robots for total knee, partial knee and total hip replacements, 352 Today reported Jan. 2.

The robots offer 3D CT-based surgical planning and haptic technology to support surgeons. The technology is designed to increase precision and quicken recovery times for patients.

“With this robot, I can utilize a CT scan to create a personalized surgical plan based on each patient’s unique anatomy before entering the operating room. During surgery, I can confirm my plan and make any necessary adjustments while guiding the robotic arm to execute the intended surgical plan,” Derek Farr, DO, said in the report.
