Zimmer Biomet and Bloomington-based Indiana University inked a three-year collaboration to bolster orthopedic research and innovation, IU said in an April 20 news release.
The two will work together on research and development, technical training and credentialing, and workforce development initiatives to grow Indiana’s orthopedic sector.
Zimmer Biomet will support and engage with the Indiana Musculoskeletal Health Partnership for the Advancement of Care & Treatment and work with the IU Kelley School of Business.
“Zimmer Biomet’s roots in Indiana run deep, and that nearly 100-year legacy continues to drive how we innovate and lead in musculoskeletal care,” Zimmer Biomet CEO Ivan Tornos said in the release. “Our collaboration with Indiana University builds on that tradition by advancing breakthrough technologies, developing the next generation of talent, and accelerating research that improves mobility and outcomes for patients globally.”
