Warsaw, Ind.-based medtech company Zimmer Biomet has signed a cooperation agreement with Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, according to a May 26 report from Daily News Egypt.
Through the agreement, Egypt-based distributor AZM will offer Zimmer Biomet’s orthopedic and prosthetic products at public hospitals in the country.
The technology will be available at all ministry-run healthcare facilities, according to the report.
Zimmer Biomet’s vice president of emerging markets, Erik Antos, signed the agreement at the ministry’s headquarters in Egypt’s new administrative capital.
Mr. Antos noted Zimmer Biomet’s goal of empowering local medical professionals in Egypt and beyond as the country continues its healthcare modernization efforts.
