Zimmer Biomet has secured FDA 510(k) clearance for an extension to its Identity Shoulder System and Comprehensive Reverse Shoulder Systems.

The expansion includes additional implant sizes and matching surgical tools as well as the introduction of a new Alliance Humeral Bearing with Vitamin E polyethylene material, according to an April 15 news release from Zimmer Biomet.

Hospitals and ASCs can now utilize a single bearing across multiple Zimmer systems, streamlining supply management and reducing complexity.

The Identity Shoulder System supports anatomic, reverse and revision total shoulder arthroplasty, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
