Beacon Orthopedics was a leader in outpatient orthopedic surgery, according to founding member Tim Kremchek, MD.

“We were way ahead of the curve,” he said in an Oct. 29 news release. “Nobody in orthopaedics had their own surgery center. It was all being done at hospitals. We wanted to create a seamless experience, something different.”

Since its founding in 1996, Beacon Orthopaedics has grown to 25 locations and three ASCs. More than 60 physicians work with the practice.

CEO Andy Blankemeyer said Beacon continues to innovate after 25 years with its joint venture with TriHealth. The partnership combines ambulatory assets and a co-management agreement.

“This is one of the first partnerships of its kind in the country, and an innovative approach with a national model for how independent physician groups can partner with health systems,” he said in the release.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
