Mr. McCarthy has been rehabbing since undergoing the procedure, but recent swelling resulted in a setback, according to a Nov. 13 report from ESPN.

Mr. McCarthy reportedly underwent a second surgery on the knee and was given a biologic injection.

His return to the field in 2025 is not expected to be affected by the second procedure, according to the report.
