Frisco, Colo.-based Vail Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery sent a notice of a recent security incident.
On Aug. 6, 2024, the practice learned of suspicious activity in its email environment, prompting an investigation which determined that an unauthorized third party accessed and acquired certain files during the breach, according to the Aug. 1 notice.
Data that may have been involved in the incident includes addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, social security numbers and health insurance numbers, as well as medical information such as diagnoses, treatments, procedures and medical test results.
On July 24, 2025, Vail Summit determined the individuals who potentially had their information impacted.
Vail Summit is not aware of any fraud or misuse of individual’s data, the notice said.
