Here’s what you need to know:
1. The Michigan Integrative Musculoskeletal Health Core Center is an interdisciplinary research center, which will investigate musculoskeletal health, injury and disease.
2. In addition to research, the university hopes that the center will create opportunities for collaboration, training and mentorship between different disciplines.
3. Sixty faculty members will participate in interdisciplinary research at the center — for example, researchers in anatomy, anthropology, engineering and orthopedics will collaborate to study ACL injuries.
4. The participating faculty members span seven of the university’s schools, including representatives from the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering, Medical School and College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.
