A UChicago Medicine AdventHealth orthopedic clinic in La Grange, Ill., has become the first facility in the state to implant the Stryker Triathlon Gold Knee, a joint replacement option for patients with metal sensitivity.

The hospital’s Center for Advanced Joint Replacement performed the procedure using the Stryker Mako 4.0 robotic system, which provides added precision and personalization in joint replacement surgery, according to a Feb. 18 Linkedin post from UChicago Medicine.

Earlier in February, the hospital also became the first in the state to offer Stryker Mako robotic-assisted shoulder replacement.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
