UC San Francisco global orthopedic trauma institute continues worldwide efforts

The UC San Francisco Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology was created eight years ago, but its founders continue to strive for growth.

Now, IGOT is offered as a full rotation at UC San Francisco, and 75 percent of the university’s orthopedic residents participate.

 

The program trains not only local physicians, but also hosts physicians from across the globe. Orthopedic surgeons from South Africa, Afghanistan and more have participated in IGOT courses.
