Three things to know:
1. The clinical trial assessed 66 total knee replacement patients treated with e-vive neuromuscular electrical stimulation versus the standard of care at Cleveland Clinic, according to researchers at Cleveland Clinic.
2. Patients treated with e-vive demonstrated statistically significant improvements, with a clinically significant 12.9 percent increase in quadriceps strength three weeks postoperatively. Standard-of-care patients had an average 29 percent loss in quadriceps strength.
3. E-vive patients also had increased Timed Up and Go test times at both six and 12 weeks postoperatively.
