Appleton, Wis.-based ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain is using a new surgical table designed to improve outcomes for arthroscopic hip surgery.
The Guardian HipCheck surgical table, developed by Stryker, uses a boot-like harness and the patient’s body weight to access the hip joint, eliminating the need for a groin-area post. The technology may reduce nerve injury risk, according to a March 4 news release.
The table also enables real-time 3D imaging and measurement for greater precision during procedures such as labral tear and impingement repair. It was purchased with support from the ThedaCare Family of Foundations.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
