Transitioning his organization to a new integrated network and integrating young, hardworking surgeons are on the to-do list for this orthopedic surgeon and leader.

Scott Kimmerly, MD, an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon and president of Atlanta-based Peachtree Orthopedics, recently connected with Becker’s on his goals to finish out the year.

Moving over to the new network with no disruptions to patient care is crucial for Dr. Kimmerly, as is rewarding young physicians.

Question: What is your top priority or goal that you are hoping to check off your list by the end of the year?

Dr. Scott Kimmerly: I truly have two objectives that need to be completed by the end of the year. At Peachtree Orthopedics, we are currently in the process of transitioning to a new clinically integrated network. We are working overtime to accomplish this with no patient care disruptions. However, we look forward to having a managed care partner and network that prioritizes patient access over hospital control and profits. Equally important, we have a group of five young, talented orthopedic physicians that have worked very hard over the past two years and are now ready to transition into partnership and the next phase of their careers. I want to make certain their integration into our independent, growing practice is seamless.
