The region with the highest volume of knee replacement surgeries

The Midwest sees the largest proportion of knee replacements in the U.S. every year, with 31 percent of procedures occurring in the region, according to a May 16 report from healthcare data company Definitive Healthcare.

Distribution of knee replacement procedures by region: 

1. Midwest: 31 percent 

2. Southeast: 28 percent 

3. West: 18 percent 

4. Northeast: 15 percent

5. Southwest: 8 percent
