The Pain Center of West Virginia to pay $750K to settle false claim allegations

Martinsburg-based Pain Center of West Virginia has agreed to pay $750,000 to resolve false claim allegations.

The practice allegedly submitted false claims to Medicare for the use of amniotic fluid injections for pain management, according to a Sept. 25 press release from the Department of Justice. 

The Pain Center of West Virginia allegedly submitted claims to Medicare for treatment related to various orthopedic conditions and pain associated with those conditions, knowing that Medicare did not cover the use of amniotic fluid injections for pain management.
