The Dallas PRP and Stem Cell Institute to run 2 clinical trials: 4 things to know

The Dallas PRP and Stem Cell Institute is now enrolling patients in two clinical trials.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The trials will test regenerative medicine techniques and medications for arthritis and orthopedic injuries.

 

2. One clinical trial will compare a non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication and Curcumin. An anti-inflammatory plant-based herbal supplement, Curcumin may be safer and more effective than NSAIDs.

 

3. The other clinical trial is enrolling patients with rotator cuff tears. Researchers will analyze whether surgery is avoidable if patients receive stem cell injections.

 

4. Physicians will take the stem cells from patients’ own bone marrow.
