Definitive Healthcare identified the 10 most common sports injury procedures from calendar year 2022, based on data collected from payer claims: 

1. Simple repair of superficial wounds of scalp, neck, axillae, external genitalia, trunk and/or extremities 

2. Simple repair of superficial wounds of face, ears, eyelids, nose, lips and/or mucous membranes

3. Application of short arm splint (forearm to hand); static

4. Simple repair of superficial wounds of scalp, neck, axillae, external genitalia, trunk and/or extremities

5. Application of short leg splint (calf to foot)

6. Collection of venous blood by venipuncture

7. Application of finger splint; static

8. Closed treatment of distal radial fracture or epiphyseal separation, includes closed treatment of fracture of ulnar styloid, when performed; without manipulation

9. Simple repair of superficial wounds of face, ears, eyelids, nose, lips and/or mucous membranes

10. Closed treatment of phalangeal shaft fracture, proximal or middle phalanx, finger or thumb; without manipulation, each
