UT Health East Texas in Tyler expanded orthopedic care into the new UT Tyler School of Medicine Building as part of its joint venture with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Ardent Health and Austin-based The University of Texas System.
The building houses orthopedic, imaging and surgical care, along with women’s health and pulmonary services, according to a Sept. 2 news release. It is the first time patient services and physician training share a single hub in the region.
Ardent formed the joint venture with The University of Texas System in 2018 to expand access to care and grow the local physician workforce. Since then, Ardent has invested more than $315 million in capital across UT Health East Texas.
