Texas hospital adds anterior hip replacements

Paris (Texas) Regional Health has expanded its orthopedic services to include anterior approach total hip replacement surgery.

The anterior approach allows surgeons to access the hip joint from the front of the body, working between muscles rather than cutting through them. The system will continue performing traditional hip replacement procedures, with the new technique offered as an additional option based on patient needs, according to an April 9 news release.

For some patients, the approach may support a smoother recovery and an earlier return to daily activities. To support the service, Paris Regional Health invested in imaging technology, specialized surgical tables and orthopedic training to provide care locally.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
