Gallatin, Tenn.-based Highpoint Health Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas has added the CORI surgical system for knee replacement procedures.
The surgeon-guided robotic platform provides real-time imaging and guidance during surgery to support more precise implant placement and joint alignment based on a patient’s anatomy. The technology also does not require additional preoperative imaging, which the hospital said may reduce financial barriers for some patients preparing for surgery, according to a May 21 news release.
William Beauchamp, DO, an orthopedic surgeon at Highpoint Health Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas, performed the hospital’s first procedure using the system.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
