Beginning May 2, a team of TOC physicians will be available at the hospital campus every Monday. The 31-physician orthopedic group will expand its operating hours and establish a larger presence at the hospital if the demand is there.
The partnership will allow Northwest Florida Community Hospital to provide a broader range of specialized orthopedic services, according to CEO Michael Kozar, who said, “There’s definitely a need for more orthopedic services in this region of Florida.”
Mr. Kozar said the hospital had more than 600 referrals for orthopedic services in 2021, with more than 400 of those referrals having to drive to TOC’s facility in Marianna, according to the report, which is about 20 miles away.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
