The robot was used extensively in the U.S., Stryker Vice President of Investor Relations Jason Beach said, as transcribed by Seeking Alpha. In the fourth quarter, Mako was used in about 55 percent of knee replacements and 30 percent of hip replacements, Mr. Beach said.
Stryker CEO Kevin Lobo said new software for Mako’s knee application, TKA 2.0, will be on the way in 2023. The software is available in a limited launch, with a full launch expected in the third quarter.
Stryker also surpassed its 1 millionth cementless knee procedure in December, Mr. Beach said.
