St. Louis non-profit provides orthopedic care in Dominican Republic

Pediatric Orthopedic Project, a St. Louis-based non-profit organization, has travelled to the Dominican Republic in the past to perform surgery on patients in need. Now, 16 volunteers will return to the Dominican Republican in March, according to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report.

Pediatric radiologist Madelyn Stazzone, MD, serves as the program’s director. She and her husband, an orthopedic surgeon, established the non-profit in 2012.
