Here are five things to know:
1. The expansion will include two new operating rooms for neurological surgeries as well as additional recovery bays. The neurological services expansion will cost around $6 million and add about 3,000 square feet to the department.
2. The hospital’s Orthopedic Center of Excellence has helped increase the number of surgeries at the hospital, which is one of the reasons for the expansion. The total expansion will include a new $13.3 million floor that adds 26 new patient rooms and 19,500 square feet.
3. The new private rooms will include family seating areas, sleep sofas, flat screen TVs and hands-free phones, according to the report. The private patient rooms also have private bathrooms.
4. At the same time, St. Anne’s is renovating its emergency room, designing a secure area for patients with behavioral health and addiction issues.
5. The new operating rooms are scheduled to open this fall while the ER is slated to finish upgrades in the winter of next year.
