Smith+Nephew rakes in $1.4B in Q2 revenue

Orthopedic and medtech company Smith+Nephew recorded more than $1.4 billion in revenue during the second quarter of 2024, according to its Aug. 1 financial results.

  • 2024 second quarter revenue was slightly higher than the $1.38 billion recorded in the second quarter of 2023.
  • Revenue in the first half of 2024 totaled $2.83 billion, up 3.4% from the first half of 2023. 
  • The company’s operating profit in the first half of 2024 was $328 million. 
  • Orthopedics revenue in the second quarter increased 5.8%, with growth in hip and knee implants outside of the U.S. 
  • Smith+Nephew’s sports medicine, and ear, nose and throat sector increased 7.6% in the second quarter of 2024. 
  • Trading profit increased 12.8% in the first half of 2024 and is up to $471 million. 
  • The company expects 2024 underlying revenue growth to be between 5% and 6%.
