Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has installed the region’s first interpretive MRI at its new Sanford Orthopedics building, according to a July 25 report from Dakota News Now.
The advanced imaging system, lifted into the facility by crane, will allow physicians to diagnose and treat more complex injuries locally, eliminating the need for patients to travel to out-of-state academic centers.
The interpretive MRI is the first of its kind in the Dakotas and marks a significant advancement in bringing high-level imaging technology to the local community, according to the report.
The orthopedic facility, located next to Sanford Children’s Hospital, is scheduled to open in January.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
