Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health has expanded its main campus with a new orthopedic hospital and an on-site hotel for patients and visitors.
The hospital houses 12 operating rooms, 35 pre- and post-operative rooms, staff break areas and additional workspaces. The facility also includes an intraoperative MRI system that enables real-time imaging during surgery, according to a Dec. 15 KELOLAND report.
Built atop the new hospital are two floors comprising the 56-room Highpoint Hotel. While the hotel will be open to all, it is primarily intended for patients traveling for care or recovering post-procedure.
Located next to Sanford Children’s Hospital and the Sanford Surgical Tower, the new orthopedic facility expands Sanford’s surgical capabilities and will also serve neurosurgery patients. It will open to patients Jan. 12.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
