Here are four things to know:
1. Stanislaus Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic physicians will provide care at the hospital for the next year.
2. San Joaquin General will pay the practice a maximum of $3.9 million for its services.
3. The orthopedics division at the hospital performs more than 1,600 surgical cases a year, but has not been able to maintain an adequate number of orthopedic surgeons due to high turnover.
4. With the new agreement, the hospital will have at least three full-time orthopedic surgeons, as well as physician assistants, technicians and an administrative department chair.
