Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics is planning three new ASCs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, according to a July 9 report from The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The organization is currently a partner in nine surgery centers and two surgical hospitals across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but is aiming for the new ASCs to be opened independently.
Outpatient facilities account for nearly two-thirds of Rothman’s procedures, with the remaining third performed in acute-care hospitals.
The locations for the new centers are not finalized, but will be in areas where Rothman has an established patient base, the report said.
Rothman is looking to grow its team to a total of 214 physicians by the end of the year, adding 41 physicians between May 2025 and December 2026.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
