Rothman Orthopaedics renewed its partnership with the Philadelphia Phillies, according to a March 27 email shared with Becker’s.
As part of the partnership, Steven Cohen, MD, will serve as medical director and head team physician.
“Our top priority is ensuring that the players receive the highest level of treatment, injury prevention strategies, and rehabilitation support to keep them performing at their best throughout the season,” Dr. Cohen said in the release. “I look forward to working closely with the team to maintain their health and longevity on and off the field.”
“Rothman Orthopaedics and the Philadelphia Phillies have a longstanding, successful partnership that has spanned over three decades,” Alexander Vaccaro, MD, PhD, president of Rothman Orthopaedics, said in the release. “We are thrilled to continue this relationship with one of the most storied franchises in Major League Baseball.”
Michael Ciccotti, MD, previously led the Phillies’ medical team for three decades before retiring. Now he serves as a consultant to the organization.
Rothman Orthopaedics will remain as the team’s “Official Orthopedic Partner” and have signage on the field, video board and other digital channels.
Rothman also has a sports partnership with the NBA’s Orlando Magic, several college teams and the NFL’s Eagles at the “Proud Partner” level, according to Sports Business Journal.
