Hospital for Special Surgery, Lenox Hill Hospital and NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital demonstrated the lowest cost of care for hip and knee replacements over a 90-day period, which tracks the patient journey from the date of admission.
The data includes the index hospitalizations, rehospitalization, home health, nursing home and ED costs.

Tisch Hospital: $26,288
Average nursing home costs per hospitalization:
HSS: $7,695
Lenox Hill Hospital: $13,820
Tisch Hospital: $10,904
Average home health costs per hospitalization:
HSS: $3,888
Lenox Hill Hospital: $3,722
Tisch Hospital: $4,205
