Whittier, Calif.-based PIH Health has added Zimmer Biomet’s Persona IQ smart knee implant for total knee replacement surgeries.
The implant, which builds on Persona’s preexisting personalized knee implant, features implantable sensors that measure range of motion, step count, walking speed and other gait metrics in the patient post-operation.
PIH Health, which serves 3 million residents in the area, is one of the first systems in the Los Angeles area to offer the Persona IQ smart knee implant, according to a Jan. 25 press release.
