Here are five things to know:
1. The surgical systems will be used at Phoenix Spine & Joint’s Goodyear and Scottsdale, Ariz. locations. Surgeons at Phoenix Spine & Joint’s ambulatory surgery center will become the first to perform robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty procedures in the Southwest.
2. The Navio system does not require a preoperative CT scan. The surgeon, instead, collects patient-specific data during the procedure to build a 3D model of the patient’s knee, which is used to plan the surgery.
3. Surgeons will be using Journey II XR Total Knee Implants to compliment the Navio system.
4. James Chow, MD, and Vishal Ganesh, MD, are among the surgeons who will begin using the robotic surgery system.
5. Phoenix Spine & Joint was founded by Daniel Lieberman, MD, as free-standing outpatient centers.
