Four fast facts:
1. Dr. Helmold graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. There, he also completed internship, residency and fellowship training.
2. Dr. Helmold received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
3. Before becoming an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Helmold was a civil engineer. He changed careers to combine his interests in medicine, engineering and service.
4. Lehigh Valley Physician Group is a nonprofit subsidiary of Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network. The group’s nearly 1,000 physicians and 600 advanced practice clinicians represent 48 medical specialties.
