The practice notified law enforcement and began an investigation to determine what information was breached, according to the notice.

While the investigation is ongoing, information that could have been taken includes patient addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, medical treatment/diagnosis information, treatment costs, financial account information and health insurance claims/provider information.

Upon discovering the attack, the practice changed its passwords and implemented additional security measures.

Peachtree is warning patients to monitor credit reports and account statements, and remain vigilant against instances of identity theft.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
