The 115,000-square-foot facility will sit between Arkansas Children’s Northwest and the Blue Cross Blue Shield building in Springdale.

UAMS hopes to have the orthopedic center open in 2025, according to the report. The facility will be an outpatient clinic with clinical space and a surgery center.

The University of Arkansas board of trustees in 2021 approved a $109.6 million bond to cover costs of the center.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
