Orthofix recently donated $25,000 to support Ukraine relief efforts amid the country's ongoing conflict with Russia, the medical device company said March 18.

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network is planning to construct a short-stay orthopedic facility for patients recovering from surgery, Lehigh Valley Regional News reported March 17. 

Patients who received spinal anesthesia instead of general anesthesia for outpatient hip and knee replacements reported less pain and were more often discharged the same day, according to a study published in Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.

An orthopedic surgeon who previously practiced at New Haven, Conn.-based Yale Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine, to offer his services amid the conflict with Russia.
